OVERVIEW

This section will ewplain, in a few words, the different windows available in Blue Labelle JukeBoX V2

The JukeBoX

Files that appear in the JukeBoX will be played sequentially. Click twice on a file to play it. Click with the right mouse button to display a menu allowing you to change the type of display, sorting criterias or to search for a file in the jukeBoX. You can select several files and can do various actions on this selection (remove, copy, send to recycle bin)...

ADD tab

You can choose a drive on top. If it contains folders or known multimedia files, they will be displayed in the main view. As you change folders, the top right list will keep in memory the last visited folders. Click on the one of your choice to reach it directly. You can type in the name of a folder then press ENTER, as well as the name of a shortcut-folder as defined in Preferences screen , or select one of them in the left list. If you click with the right button in the folder view, a menu will be shown : adding all or just selection, scaning the current drive or the selected folder, displaying File Formats screen to choose types of file to take into account, etc...

LYRICS tab

Displays lyrics for whatever multimedia file formats. It can be lyrics or comments. You can thus add comments to your movies. For MIDI files (mid, kar and rmi), if lyrics have not been created before, the program will attempt to extract lyrics included. If karaoke format is not recognized, all included informations will be displayed (copyright, tracks name, etc...). For MP3 files, if a Lyrics3 Tag exists in the file, it will be extracted and displayed. The program will also extract informations of MOD and S3M files. Word edition functions are basic; for a more complete modification, click on to Edit lyrics icon.

PROPERTIES tab

The type of informations displayed depends on the type of the current file. You have access to several configuration tools : ID3 Tag Edit, CD Informations and playback engines settings. When a click is possible, the cursor will change.

Karaoke player

This is the karaoke player. It recognizes MIDI karaoke files (mid and kar) like Soft Karaoke files. It also recognizes MP3 karaoke files created with Digital Karaoke MP3 by Olivier Guegan (* .kok files). It recognizes as well synchronization files created with the karaoke Maker included in Blue Labelle JukeBoX, that permits to create karaoke files for all file types supported by the program (CD Audio, modules, MIDI, MP3, etc...).

You will be able to configure karaoke appearence by changing the text color, its font, the background picture and the bouncing picture. You can finally associate a texture to a file.

Karaoke maker

1. Enter or import Lyrics.
If the window has been opened using the Lyrics tab icon, lyrics that were displayed there are reproduced in the text area. If a synchronization file (* .kok) has been found, it is displayed instead. Otherwise, you can import lyrics by clicking on the first icon of the toolbar, or enter lyrics directly in the text area (or by copy-paste).

Don't hesitate to go to next line frequently, otherwise karaoke display of your line may be truncated. Then, separate syllables with splitting character you specified. Each syllable will be indicated by the karaoke player and not only the whole word. Splitting syllables also allows the synchronization to be more intuitive.

2. Synchronization process.
Click on " 1. Start ".... Click then on " 2. Click " every time a syllable is to be sung. You also can, instead of clicking, press ENTER or SPACE key. You can visualize syllables in the bar at bottom. In the white slot is displayed the syllable that has just been sung. The right slot is the syllable to synchronize. Characters " \ " represent jumps to next line.

3. Enter informations.
You can enter information about the song: Title, Artist, Album, Year, Genre, Infos. These informations will be displayed in the karaoke window when the file is played.

4. Save and test.
Don't forget to save the synchronization file, otherwise... it will be necessary to start from the beginning again ! The file will be saved in the LYRICS folder of Blue Labelle JukeBoX (to * .kok format). Synchronization Files, to be recognized, must be located in the LYRICS folder, or in the multimedia file's folder. You can also test the created file. If you want to integrate the synchronization file directly in a MP3 or WMA file, you have to go to the ID3 TAG window and click on "Integrate synchronization file.

Video screen

If the current file is a VIDEO file, this window is displayed. The left icon displays options of the screen video. If you double-click on the movie, the program wil start reading the following file. You can resize the window by placing your mouse on its extremities.

The Size menu allows you to change the size of the video file : from half to Full Screen. If you choose Personalized, your window won't resize anymore whatever may be the original size of the Video file.
The Speed menu allows you to change the playing speed of the file (do not work with all file types).

Preferences

Do not sort (by default):
Check so that, by default, files should be added to the JukeBoX in their initial order: all new addition is positioned at the end of the JukeBoX. But, when you open a previously saved JukeBoX, its files will be displayed in the order saved and not according to the active sorting criterias.

Show in taskbar:
Check so that the window of Blue Labelle JukeBoX should always be visible in the Windows taskbar. If not, Blue Labelle JukeBoX won't appear anymore in the taskbar when you minimize the window of the program. To restore the window you will have to click then on "Show/Hide...JukeBoX" in the menu.

JukeBoX auto-start:
Check so that all open JukeBoX should launch automatically.

Select shortcut-folders:
It allows you to assign a code to a folder. If you select MOD in the ADD tab, the program will reach the folder, without having to browse the arborescence of folders. WINMEDIA is assigned to the MEDIA folder of MS Windows. To create your own shortcut, click on Add, select a folder. Indicate a code when the program asks you to. The created shortcut will be added to the list.

You can also specify another mixer (i.e. the Surround Mixer of SB Live sound cards) ou set a wait delay between 2 multimedia files.

Launch with...

External applications can be specified. These files will be then accessible by Clicking on icon : you will be able to open the current file with one of programs that you will have indicated in this tab. You could add the Media Player (mplayer.exe), the CD-Audio player (cdplayer.exe), the Sound recorder (sndrec32.exe), or Audio files editor, a sequencer or, why not, a video editor.

File formats

On the left, formats recognized by Blue Labelle JukeBoX for your system. On the right, formats currently used by the program. You can save as many lists as you wish: give it a name in the upper left frame, click then on "save as...". For example, you can create a list for the Video files only, or Audio only, or MIDI only, etc... To change list, select one of it by clicking on the small triangle of combo box.

ID3 TAG EDIT

This screen allows you to associate informations to your MP3 or WMA files. These informations will be written in the file itself and recognized by most MP3 players. You can add lyrics to associate to the file. Within Blue Labelle JukeBoX, these words will be extracted automatically and will be displayed in the LYRICS tab. If you have created a synchronization file with the Karaoke maker, you can integrate it directly in a MP3 or WMA file, so that he should not need the KOK file anymore : click on "Integrate the synchronization file".

CD Informations

If you have entered informations for the CD Audio, they are displayed, as well as the total length and the length of each track. You can change these informations by clicking on the artist, the album or by double-clicking on the Track Name of each track.

Record to WAVE

This screen permits to record master sound to a * .wav file. Therefore, you will be able to record to this format a MIDI file and your voice if you sing over it ! Select the folder where to save the wave file, indicate the name that it will have, adjust the recording options. Click then on the red button to begin recording... and the black square to stop it !

Playback Engines

Of course, the more the priority levels are high, the more your computer ressources will be monopolized. You may also choose to use Windows MCI device instead to play MP3 files : it can be faster, depending on your configuration.

VU-METER
This screen allows you to configure the mini vu-meter of Blue Labelle JukeBoX. It exists several types of vu-meter: mono, stereo, personalized image...

MODPLUGIN
This screen allows you to configure the audio modules playing with MOD Plugin by Olivier Lapicque.
